Groninger Museum
International PR coverage for their exhibition Mondo Mendini
Client’s wish
The Groninger Museum building turned 25 in 2019. In honour of its chief architect, Alessandro Mendini, the museum mounted a major exhibition that the famous Italian designer conceived and designed shortly before he passed away. So Groninger Museum was interested in gaining as much international attention and editorial coverage as possible for the exhibition Mondo Mendini – The World of Alessandro Mendini.
Analysis
The Groninger Museum is well-known for both its exceptional and colourful building and its fascinating exhibitions and intriguing collection. This Dutch museum has a great national press network, but needed some extra help for the international coverage. Due to the nature of the exhibition, Groninger Museum was interested in international coverage in Europe, especially in Italy.
What we did
Starting with a PR strategy and general PR advice, we helped Groninger Museum by reaching out to a broad and international press database. By sending the press releases in both English and Italian, the Italian press was specifically targeted and persuaded to write about the last exhibition by the celebrated Italian designer Mendini. The well-written and colourful press releases were picked up by many international media outlets and resulted in articles in several international media outlets, such as DOMUS, Azure Magazine, Metropolis Magazine, Living – Corriere della Serra, Formfaktor, L’Officiel, AD Magazin, Interni Magazine, Nuevo Estilo, Glocal Design Magazine and many more.
